After all the dead ends that came up on my quest for an effective anxiety cure,  I finally found Panic Away by author Barry McDonagh  (or sometimes called Joe Barry).  Since I feel like I had tried almost every other approach to help my panic attacks,  I decided to give Panic away a try and I was amazed.

The first thing I noticed was that after watching the video and reading some of the many testimonials (over 40,000 clients!!!) I already felt a sense of calmness.

While researching Panic Away, I learned some interesting facts that in my opinion really set this product apart. It is not any sort of medication, herbs, NLP or hypnosis.  Panic Away is a hollistic method of overcoming anxiety using a mind-body approach. You can’t get more natural than that!  It teaches a very straight forward method and contains an enormous amount of information in an easy to use, step-by-step program.

After reading only the first few pages,  I was feeling very confident about the method.  The book made me feel like it was written specifically for me, unlike other literature that always seem to be more of a generalized approach.  It empowered me to help myself by better understanding what was happening to me physically during an attack, and how to overcome my anxiety.

A bit of draw back is that I couldn’t find any in-person support but there is Email support and a web forum/community for any questions or advice.  I particularly loved the sense of community the forum provided as there are so many people who understand my situation with great useable advice to offer for free!

It’s been about 6 months now since I was lucky enough to stumble on to Panic Away. It has changed my life for the better and I’m confident it will do the same for you. All you need is your willingness to break out of the anxiety cycle.

My Search For A Test For Depression and Anxiety – What I Found.

It’s so easy to find a test for depression and anxiety on the web, there are many. I went online, in the privacy of my home and took a bunch of them myself. There was quite a wide variety of types, questionaire lengths, and approaches, but basically they were all rather generalized, un-personalized and gave me the same results. I may have Social Anxiety Disorder. Thank you Captain Obvious!

So I have social anxiety disorder, now what?!?!?

I did some research on a treatment for anxiety disorder, and found all sorts of things to try. There’s Prozac, of course, Paxil and Zoloft. But I was never big into taking drugs as there are so many negative side effects.

I learned a bit about Cognitive Behavior Therapy, also know as talking therapy. But once I found out it should be held in group settings, I was instantly turned off. Oh and of course there is always the very expensive option of psychotherapy! But I don’t believe I’m psychotic.

I am definitely more interested in natural type remedies. But all the “natural ingredient” pill products I found, all boasted the same benefits therefore making it difficult to believe that any one of them worked, let alone choosing the best one.

I also heard of some herbs for anxiety, crazy treatments (in my opinion) like Kava, a herb from the Pacific Islands in Polynesia with sedative and anesthetic components. Only to quickly find out that it is an unregulated nature of herbs in the US, and is really only considered a “possible” treatment.

These were not the sort of natural rememdies I was hoping for. Just when I was about to bank my research as an epic fail (yet another failure) I stumbled accross Panic Away. It seemed like a very different approach to curing Social Anxiety Disorder and because of that I was intrigued.

In my next post, I will tell you what I learned about it and what it did for me!

Social Anxiety Disorder Test – Do you really have panic attacks caused by others?

Please read this if you are considering a Social Anxiety Disorder Test.

Social anxiety or panic attacks can be referred to as SAD or SAnD. It is quite simply a distressed feeling while around small or large groups of people. It is a social phobia characterized by intense feelings of fear in these situations involving others.

The fear of being judged, or scrutinized by others is often characteristic of those with this phobia, as is feeling embarrassed or humiliated at yourself for your actions, appearance or even prescence. What ever the trigger of the anxiety, it can often be very difficult to overcome.

Physical signs such as shaking, sweating, difficulty breathing, stuttering, sickness and even a full on panic attack are all symptoms of someone suffering from some form of social anxiety. It is not uncommon for those with recurring symptoms to use drugs or alcohol to reduce the oncoming effects of the phobia while at a social function. As a band-aid fix, this practice of self medicating can result in more dangerous conditions such as alcoholism or drug dependancy.

If you feel any of this information relates to you or how you feel, this blog contains information that can help you alleviate your symptoms and eliminate ANY idea that you may have Anxiety Disorder.  If you are at the point where you feel you need a social anxiety disorder test, then you are already experiencing some of the problems that this blog attempts to eliminate through education of your condition.
